A spontaneous sharing (this was not rehearsed at all) from a two-year-old who has been learning about her nervous system. While kids need to be three to officially start our Family Program, kids even younger than that will start doing calming actions (as well as make up their own as this little cutie did) once other Brain Highways family members are doing them throughout the day. All part of becoming a connection-mode family. :) | Brain Highways

Our vestibular system is a like a patrol officer, in charge of so much of what comes into out brain. But we don’t usually think “VESTIBULAR SYSTEM” when people have trouble focusing, can’t sit still, move all the time, experience sensory overload, and have auditory and visual processing problems. And yet, those challenges are quite often related to poor vestibular processing—which can then be traced back to never having completed our lower brain development as a baby. So rather than focus on all

Our “No Tigers” video is just one of 46 short, entertaining videos, which are part of our Connection Mode Classroom program. • Two years ago, we challenged ourselves to glean from the best of our core Brian Highways programs to come up with a simple, affordable approach that teachers and students could do during the school day. That became our Connection Mode Classroom Program, which has already benefited 3,500 students at different schools in our local area. • Inspired by the overwhelming, posi

Program participants often say our multimedia approach makes it easy to learn. So, we thought we'd also start sharing short audio clips (with new content) on Facebook. And since kids are just beginning a new school year, today's clip, "Why It Makes No Sense to Have Stress in the Classroom," may be especially timely. :) | Brain Highways

As part of the pons course, kids are challenged to come up with slogans that reflect their new knowledge of the brain. Here, 7-year-old Tennessee's slogan (Your amygdala will beep if you don't creep) nicely sums up how the amygdala is often triggered way, way, way more in people with incomplete lower brain development (which then produces a physiological stress response) than those who function with a well organized brain. | Brain Highways

Maybe you think . . . IMPOSSIBLE to learn over 300 words--without ever opening a dictionary or thesaurus—in lessons that include movement, playfulness, creativity, humor, and imagination. What is this 82-year-old’s claim to fame? He is now our oldest Brain Highways participant on the floor, changing his brain! (The prior record-holder was 76.) So IMPRESSIVE that Peter has decided to finish his lower brain development alongside his grandson. :) And also equally inspirational for any of us who have wanted to change our own brain--but still haven't done so. Pretty sure any 82-year-old would have a convincing list of reasons why not to get on the floor, even though that's how we crea
